Prior to his legal and consulting work, Michael served 40 years in the Fire and EMS profession across volunteer, municipal, and multi-agency environments. His career progression includes service as a firefighter/EMT, Incident Safety Officer, Deputy Commander for a IFSAC Volunteer fire academy, and IFSAC instructor, culminating in his role as Assistant Fire Chief. This full-spectrum advancement provides him with firsthand knowledge of frontline operations, supervision, command decision-making, and executive responsibility.
Michael graduated from the National Fire Academy with certificates in Command and Control of Incident Operations, Multi-Alarm Incident Operations, Incident Safety Officer, and High-Rise Incident Command of Operations.
