
Michael K. Anderson - Fire & EMS Expert, Trainer & Consultant
Mr. Anderson is an expert witness in Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS). He brings over four decades of experience to his role as a consultant, expert witness, paralegal, and private investigator at Anderson Consulting and Training, PLLC. His career in fire and EMS has allowed him to establish himself as a subject matter expert in critical areas such as fire and EMS operations, training, safety, incident command, and internal investigations. In addition to his speaking engagements, Michael has made significant contributions to the field through his writing. He has authored articles for Fire Engineering, a leading publication in the industry, and played a crucial role as an Expert Critique Contributor for the book “Cooling the Flames: Verbal De-escalation of Mentally Ill and Aggressive Patients. A Comprehensive Guidebook for Firefighters and Emergency Medical Services,” co-authored by Ellis Amdur, M.A., N.C.C., C.M.H.S., and John K. Murphy JD, MS, PA-C.

Before beginning his legal career, Michael served over 40 years in the Fire/EMS service. During his tenure with Fire/EMS, he was a volunteer firefighter/EMT, professional firefighter/EMT, paramedic, Battalion Chief, Incident Safety Officer, Deputy Commander for the fire academy, and IFSAC instructor. Michael retired as an Assistant Fire Chief. He also was a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for 13 years.
Michael graduated from the National Fire Academy with certificates in Command and Control of Incident Operations, Multi-Alarm Incident Operations, Incident Safety Officer, and High-Rise Incident Command of Operations. He also has his Washington State Hazardous Materials On-Scene-Incident Commander certification through the Washington State Patrol and is a National Fire Academy Off-Campus Instructor.
